Bob, for me, I think I'm done with the plastic bindings...as long as I'm bending sides, I find it easy to bend the binding along with them...gotoh tuners, one-piece mahogany neck with ebony overlay (easier to inlay my logo, ditto with the fingerboard), and abalone soundhole rosette. |

I doubt if many luthiers have the same standard model. I have two models, the Basic and the Deluxe versions of my guitars. These are starting points for the customer to work from. My Basic series is striped down to the minimum appointments I am willing to offer. The deluxe features many more appointments that add to the beauty of the instrument. These are only a starting point for the customers. They can add custom features after they decide which appointment package to go with. All my guitars feature solid woods. Wood binding and rosettes. As well as Ebony fretboard and bridge. Gotoh 510 machines are also standard. Gloss finish and a good case. I have never touched plastic binding and don't intend to. I prefer wood. Josh |

My basic is either Mahogany, EIR, walnut or curly Maple, Sitka or Ceder top, choice of rosewood or ebony for fingerboard and bridge, choice of wood or plastic for binding (some people prefer plastic) and choce of plastic or wood purflling. One piece mahogany neck, Grover 18:1 Sta-Tite Guitar Machines and French polished. Everything else is extra. It does seem though that most people want to upgrade something. |

I don't haev any standard models. which make queries a little more time consuming, what I usually do is provide people with a list of things we need to spec and help them build it up. |
